Estibar los cuarteles del tambucho merece una especial atención. Generalmente son dos tablas de madera (o metacrilato) que deberán retirarse con el fin de tener el acceso libre al interior. Hay quien prefiere estibarlos en los cofres de popa, también quien los coloca debajo de alguna colchoneta, ya sea del salón o de una cabina, pero nunca debieran dejarse sueltos, pues con los bandazos acabarán rayando y golpeando las distintas superficies que se crucen en su errante camino.
